Referendum
A referendum is now taking place in three counties in Transylvania. The population in these three counties is majoritary not-Romanian. They take this action to state once more that everybody in that part of the country is for local autonomy.
I personally am not xenophobe, nor do I have any other convictions that would make me socially
intolerant. I have hungarian friends, gay friends, black friends etc. and I respect them all. They’re equal to everybody else.
To risk an opinion, I will say that there is a thing that is actually disturbing for me when it comes to minorities. I think it’s fair from them to want to be treated like everybody else. But I also think it’s very unfair from them to want to be treated exceptionally.

hey people !
is not called yet referendum, is just “sondaj de opinie”
I’m from Sovata (middle of Romania) were 80% of the habitats are Hungarian and of course they made this “referendum” there also, but the people want to have economical autonomy, because a lot of taxes are going to Bucharest, and they want to keep the money in that region !
Unfortunately the Hungarian parts(Consiliul Nationla al Secuilor), want also legislative authority, this is the main think why this Autonomy will be not be possible.
the funny think was when ANTENA 1 TV enter in a Hungarian apartment and ask the family if they want the Autonomy in Sovata, and they replayed: YES for sure, I don’t know what is that but they told me to say YES….

What an update!!!Wohooo – I know how nationalist movements are going on around Europe, but I forgot about the ones in our country. I think the word referendum and the way they choose to organize it is wrong, because the result cannot be used as a legal prove, as it isn’t recognized by the law in the country. But the action definitely showes a movement and a trend in that part of the country. It can evolve in other movements of other minorities.
